LADY PINK

LADY PINK is one of the first major female graffiti artists to emerge in the growing subculture during the 1980's. This NYC based artist rocked walls and subway trains all over the city and had a starring role in the iconic street-culture-based movie, "Wild Style." Today she has a cult-like following, her work being renowned by collectors and living within museums around the world such as the MET in New York City and the Groningen Museum of Holland

In this mural, Lady Pink illustrated a young woman leading another in colorful leggings and a "pussy hat" (inspired by the 2017 Women's March.) Within the wings are Spanish phrases that call for an end to systematic and cultural issues.
